House of Pain

Here we are with a nice summer week and then Audrey starts complaining here tooth hurts.
Sarah schedules a dentist appointment and off they go. Turns out or little lady needs a root canal.
In the mean time they have given us prescriptions for antibiotics , because of course the tooth has to be infected, and some liquid tylenol with codeine. Unfortunate for Audrey, she seems immune to codeine. It doesn't seem to make her sleepy or help the pain.

The root canal is scheduled for next week , so hopefully the combo of medicines will kick in and make her feel better. If not we will be calling the doctor for some stiffer stuff.


Hopefully, Audrey doesn't get scarred for life from all this early dentistry (she has already had a cavity), but so far she seems to take it in stride. It also helps that we go to a children's dentist who hands out little toys with each visit.

On the flip side-
I joined a local tennis league called world team tennis (actually a national organization with local branches). We had our first match last Tuesday. The competition is 2 sets of mixed doubles, 1 set of men's doubles, 1 set of women's doubles , 1 set of men's singles and 1 set of women's singles. We won our 2 sets of mixed doubles, men's doubles and women's singles. They sum up all the games for each to make a composite score. We won by 1 game in the end (it was close due to a butt kicking that we received in men's singles, when we won no games).
Anyways can't complain on a 1-0 start. It is a short league only 6 matches before playoffs so every win counts.
